Growing Together: Our First Year at Pungo Maples

Pungo Maples celebrates its first year, growing from 200 to over 400 grafted Japanese maple trees with support from Hampton Roads customers. Our grand opening is planned for April 2027. Until then, shop online for pickup or local delivery, or schedule a nursery visit. Thank you for helping us grow!

Our First Year at Pungo Maples
2026 marked the beginning of Pungo Maples, and what a rewarding first year it has been. We opened with more than 200 grafted Japanese maple trees, ranging from 1-gallon plants to established trees reaching 7 feet tall in 15-gallon containers. We’re closing the year with more than 400 grafted trees in inventory and an exciting outlook for 2027. The response to our collector Japanese maples here in Hampton Roads has helped shape our nursery’s future. Throughout much of our first year, visits were available by appointment as we tested the market, learned which cultivars you loved, and explored the additional services you needed. Thank you to everyone who visited, purchased a tree, recommended us to a friend, or shared your experience online. We also appreciate your patience as we adjusted our nursery layout to make browsing and choosing your next Japanese maple easier and more enjoyable. Your support has helped us grow in more ways than one. We’re now looking ahead to our **grand opening in April 2027**. Until then, nursery visits will remain available by appointment, and you can continue shopping online at Pungomaples.com for pickup or local delivery. Yes, we deliver! With affordable local delivery options, adding a Japanese maple to your landscape is even more convenient. Thank you for being part of our first year. We look forward to welcoming you back, meeting new maple enthusiasts, and sharing another season of exceptional trees in 2027!
